1851 Navy 2nd Generation    .36
Cased U.S. Grant 1851 Navy Commemorative
Year: 1971      Estimated value: $900.00
This is one of the 4,750 individually cased Grant commemorative sets assembled after the “Matched Pair” Grant-Lee sets were marketed. These 2nd generation black powder or “cap & ball” guns are made extremely well, and, in my opinion, far superior than the Italian reproductions you see today. This is one that would letter from Colt. The case is oiled walnut with a colt emblem, blue velvet lining, and includes a nipple wrench, powder flask, and bullet mold. After 40+ years, this one is in remarkable condition, showing only light discoloration and handling marks. A fine specimen.
