1851 Navy 2nd Generation    .36
Grant - Lee Matched Pair, Cased Set
Year: 1971      Estimated value: $2,200.00
This is a really fabulous set of the Colt 2nd generation cap & ball percussion revolvers, dating to 1971. This set kicked off Colts production of these fresh runs of black powder revolvers! Only 250 matched sets were produced and as a result, is a coveted piece for many Colt enthusiasts. These guns WILL factory letter, unlike the 3rd gen, or “Signature Series” revolvers. The beautiful oil finished walnut case is lined with maroon velvet and includes a Dixon “Stand of Flags” powder flask, .36 caliber two cavity bullet mold, with a case hardened sprue cutter, a blued steel “L” shaped nipple wrench/screwdriver, and two Ely cap tins. This set is in nearly mint-as-issued condition with no loss of blue, strong case colors, no wear of the silver plating on the straps. The original issue price was $500. These guns were sold as individual cased set configurations but their numbers were much higher in production – 4,750 each and therefore much more common.
